How Our AI Works

We want to be clear about what the Ask and Listen features do.

The Ask feature

It searches the text of the guide you are reading and shows the passage that best matches your question. It does not use outside knowledge. If the guide does not cover your question, it tells you so.

The Listen feature

It reads the guide aloud with a voice from your device. The female and male choice depends on the voices your device offers. Studio recordings can be attached to any guide and are used instead when present.

Our writing

Our editors use research tools and software to help prepare guides. A person is responsible for every guide that is published.

Your questions

The text you type into Ask stays in your browser. We do not store it.
